jab kabhi bolna waqt par bolna
muddaton sochna mukhtasar bolna

Daal dega halaaqat mein ik din tujhe
ai parinde tera shaakh par bolna

pehle kuch duur tak saath chal ke parakh
phir mujhe hamsafar hamsafar bolna

umr bhar ko mujhe besadaa kar gaya
tera ik baar muunh pher kar bolna

meri khaana-badoshi se pooche koi
kitnaa mushkil hai raaste ko ghar bolna

kyuun hai khaamosh sone ki chidiyaa bata
lag gai tujh ko kis ki nazar bolna
