میری تصویر کتابوں میں چھپا کر رکھنا

اپنی باتوں میں مِری بات کو شامل رکھنا

یہ بھی ممکن ہے کہ کچھ لوگ تمہیں یہ کہہ دیں

''چند لمحوں میں کسی شخص کا ہونا کیسا

وہ تو اک خواب تھا خوابوں سے محبت کیسی

تم تو پاگل ہو سرابوں سے تمنا کیسی

اب کسی اور کے احساس کی سج دھج بن کر

تم کسی اور کے آنگن میں بسیرا کرلو''

تم بدلنا نہیں موسم کے بدل جانے سے

اپنے جلوؤں کو مِرے پیار کے قابل رکھنا

بعد مدت کے سہی لوٹ کے آؤں گا میں

اک مسافر ہوں سر شام چلا جاؤں گا
